Heritage Keepers was founded by Tom and Rhesa Brewster and Marilyn Slack. Their vision of providing an in-home ministry to senior adults came after a lot of prayer and consultation with family and friends. It became obvious that God was calling them to this ministry in March of 2009. Their desire is to make an eternal, spiritual impact in the lives of the adults whom they serve and the Caregivers that work alongside them.
Tom and Rhesa Brewster have been married since 1990 and have three children – Will, Anna, and Holly. They have served continuously in lay ministries within the church during their entire marriage and are committed servants of Christ, desiring to honor Him in every aspect of their lives. Together, they are currently serving as directors of a growing Bible fellowship class and are actively involved in counseling young couples considering marriage.
Tom Brewster – For the past 6 years, Tom has successfully run several small businesses. Before that time, Tom was an executive in the telecommunications industry working for companies such as MCI, SBC and IP Communications. He is currently a deacon at Prestonwood Baptist Church. Tom attended Tennessee Temple University.
Rhesa Brewster – A graduate of Tennessee Temple University, Rhesa held several teaching and executive assistant positions before taking on the task of home schooling their three children. She is also actively involved in women’s small groups and enjoys mentoring several younger women regarding family and child-rearing issues.
Marilyn Slack – Marilyn has worked in the telecommunications field and a variety of construction fields at various levels of management and as a successful business owner. Marilyn graduated from the University of Missouri - Rolla. She has been actively involved in church lay ministry for 30 years serving in choir, praise and worship teams, AWANA, VBS, youth ministry, college and career ministry, young couples ministry, small group ministry and church building programs. Along with Tom and Rhesa, Marilyn saw in-home senior care as an opportunity to use her business and management skills to glorify God by providing companionship, care and spiritual encouragement to those who need them.
